- Project news/updates (Al )
* New PP reportedly approved at
Board meeting!
* Project Scientist, Safety
Officer
positions open. PS
job description...
* News: Proposed reorganization
of
the Science IPT.
* ALMA Science Workshop Meeting
14-15 May 2004. Presentations
ANASAC proto-report.
* The next CCB meeting will try
again 1 July. Possibly on the agenda are three change requests of
Science interest,
and several Doc approval requests:
Change Cold Multiplier Ratio in Band 9 from X5 to X6 (ALMA-40.10.04.00-001-A-CRE)
x5 did not work. x6 is propsed, and can deliver 35
microwatts. The B9 spec is 50 microwatts. Approval could
mean a Trx penalty--asbout 4K or so,
Thacker estimates. Since a) the first 8 are NbN technology and
are not meeting the noise spec across the whole band, and b) the review
suggested
NbTiN technology be developed for the production run (which should
produce better performance) and c) option is to come up with a new
multiplier
this seems a no-brainer.
Request to extend upper frequency limit on band 7
(ALMA-40.02.07.00-003-A-CRE)
I proposed relaxing Trx at this freq to 220K; IRAM suggested
300K. I would take their offer. See my comment on almaedm.
Inclusion of 90d phase switching in the ALMA first LO (ALMA-56.00.00.00-001-A-CRE)
No brainer. Everyone but one person thought this was the plan
anyway.
ATF - Monitor and Control (M&C) Points and Documentation
