***********Message from C. Cesarsky -  European Alma Project Manager************
  Dear Alma Boards Members, Attendees and Observers,

I am pleased to inform you that Council has approved the appointment of 
John Credland to the position of European ALMA Project Manager and Head 
of ALMA Division following the retirement of Richard Kurz.

John has extensive knowledge of ALMA from a technical, financial, and 
managerial point of view through his membership of the ALMA Management 
Advisory Committee, which he recently chaired. He brings extensive 
project management experience from ESA and is familiar with managing 
very large industrial contracts and collaborative projects with 
universities and academic institutes.
He takes up his position on 19 January.
