0405-385QSO z= 1.285 V= 18.0 Notes (from the published papers): 0405-385 has a $V$=18.0 and a redshift of $z$=1.285. It displays a very high and rapid variability in radio frequencies (\citet{KedzioraCudczer96}, \citet{KedzioraCudczer97}, \citet{KedzioraChudczer98}), combining periods of 50\% variability in one hour with periods of slower behaviour during weeks. A circular polarization of --0.101\% has been reported by \citet{Rayner00}. Our 1998 map shows a component to the West at 1.5\,mas, compatible with the maps given by the Radio Optical Reference Frame\footnote{ER: Following sentence has to be included in the abstract: {\bf This research has made use of the United States Naval Observatory (USNO) Radio Reference Frame Image Database (RRFID).}}. |
