Abstract:

An active database of astrophysical (radio and other) catalogs (CATS), has been created which allows the user to operate in the local computer net of the Special Astrophysical Observatory. This database can execute the following operations in batch or interactive mode:
a) obtain a list and parameters of catalogs;
b) select from one or several catalogs using various parameters: equatorial and galactic coordinates, flux densities and spectral indices, frequencies and names of catalogs unified in mixed catalogs as MASTER.LIST;
c) selection of objects of a user's list from one or several catalogs;
d) cross-identification of different catalogs and selection after calculation of spectral indices;
e) drawing radio spectra of selected sources. On-line access to the CATS database is organized in three modes:
1) dialog mode (non-graphics);
2) access via Tcl/Tk scripts;
3) hypertext access; The result of CATS operation can be sent to the user in three formats:
1) list of identifications in original catalog formats;
2) table of identifications in CATS output format with FITS header;
3) TAR-archive of compressed PostScript files with spectra
of radio sources. CATS is continuously being expanded and presently comprises more than 50 catalogues including all the RATAN-600 catalogues.
