Keywords: display fits unix xwindows Organization: MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. Date: Mon, 16 Mar 92 18:40:14 GMT Hello all, Enclosed is a utility that I wrote for my brother. This program will allow you to display upto three fits images overlapped. Each image would be assigned a different color channel(rgb). It read BITPIX 8, 16, 32 and it should be ok with 64. As my brother loves it as is and it suits his needs, I have not continued developement on it. This is an executable and runs on his sun4 and my sparc2. You can also do limited image processing such as taking the sqaure, sqaure root and log of any of the images and scaling the bandwidth of any of the component images. I request that you give me feedback on this program as to future enhancements or bugs or just comments on its design. I will try to enhance this program as I can. -Barry begin 755 fits.Z M'YV0@08$6 @ ("# $ @_(#N8")0!T$H1$B1%P2%T : B))(Y%**D (H"0 M% &20!1<.(B$FHAQ0 8<1" ,@!@$@" 5% ( &#!X$<5 4@% C8H*U7"% ... Organization: MacNeal-Schwendler Corp. Date: Tue, 17 Mar 92 19:05:02 GMT I apologize for not putting the code on an ftp site. To post it was a spur of the moment decision. The display is slow because to merge 3 images and display on 8bit machines requires some fancy coding. Is this the type of program that you all out there would be interested in? I mean, should I continue to work on it? By the way, the second window that has the colormap allows you to select a color and see where in your image that color is used and what values it is. Barry
