Since the design of the ALMA Correlator, over a decade ago, technology has advanced to the point where a factor of 8 increase in spectral resolution, as well as an increase in time resolution, is likely possible for a modest cost. Rich will describe salient technical details of a possible modification and associated performance enhancements. Al will present some ideas on science that would benefit from these enhancements.
