We discuss the current status of, and data analysis tools, used by the LIGO-VIRGO continuous waves working group. Particular attention is placed on the searches for the known pulsars, the Einstein@home all-sky and radio pulsar searches, and efforts being made on low-mass X-ray binary searches. The more technical elements of the talk will focus on the template placement problem and new approaches to its solution.
