Site (JE, SR): Only one IPT has delivered the questionnaire.  (I recall that you
and Stephane made a start on this--do you have a preliminary copy which I
might work on, or should I just send an independent submission?)
  Speakers to discuss Level 1 requirements. [SG--you and I should plan this]
FrontEnd (GHT): Cryostat testing continued, reliable and stable, maintained cool
  despite leak so robust.
          Test cryostats still due Dec 02 delivery
          Prototype cartridges under manufacture, ship within 2 weeks
          Call for Proposals, EU: All expected groups submitted, WVR late
                Review board early Nov.
          Focal Plane Cal Unit: To be tested on 30m this summer.  Science IPT
                to produce test plan [neither EvD nor I were cc'd on this
                request from GHT apparently, which went to Butler and SG].

MT: Discuss idea to have NA dewar integrated at RAL, not Tucson (?)
JK: How sensitive is the compressor to inclination and acceleration?
GHT: No clear progress, nothing on paper, to be resolved by end of Nov.
Backend (DS): TP backend to be used with evaluation rx, digitizer board in
    final assy.  On target for Jan deadline.  Software integration mid-Nov 
    start.  Data transmission--work agreed, etc with Jodrell.
    Work on LO review CV 19-20 Nov 02, please clarify FE review 21-22 Nov?

GHT: Photonic hybrid plan review also. [at NRAO Director's FE Review last
    week this was discussed, decided to be unrealistically soon, need another

AB: 3bit sampler from foundry in Sept, awaiting packaging.  Interface for 
    testing ready
RK: When--in time for Dec run?
AB: No.  Tests start Nov.
    ALMA digitizer demux, new worker has begun architecture begun.
MR: How does this affect BE integration Q3 2003? (critical path item for PI).
AB: Demux more critical, probably on schedule.
JW: Correlator--prototype design complete, working w/ residual chip problem
    one chip of 100 passes tests but doesn't work at full speed on board.
    All boards ready in 6 weeks for population, poss. by commercial firm.
AB: 2GC meeting Arcetri week ago on EU specs [surprise!], selected [I have
    not seen these, hopefully these include the 90 degree rotation for SB
    separation not included in the specs from the URSI meeting, an unnacceptable
    omission] architecture selected.
MT: What is written?
AB: 2GC specs frozen for comment for another week [by whom--I have not seen 
    these]
AW: There is nothing whatsoever on ALMA EDM on this.
MT: We need them for the meeting with JP Sunday 20 Oct
MR: We need a table comparing characteristics, Marco de Vos promised this some
    time ago.
AB: He is just a consultant.  I have a table comparing a number of parameters,
    a version more complete than that presented to the ASAC [Have you seen this
    I think the Science IPT should see it] which I will send you.
Software (GR): concentrating on ATF support, common software meeting planning.
SYSEng (PG, JB): PG leaving end of Nov, trying to get ICDs organized, selecting
    2-3 people from 4 good candidates, two external to ALMA.  Doc approval
    queue still pending, will close tech comments, move to approval phase.
Sci (AW):ASAC report pending, highlight importance of wind tests of antenna,
    phase correction schemes.  Configuration: Can the JAO inform us if it was
    approved please?  Still nothing written.  Work continues on Y+. 8 Nov EU
    meeting, RSC's.  Level 2 milestones defined, Cal group meeting moving toward
    draft specs by year end
