Charge to the ASAC

The ALMA Science Advisory Committee (ASAC) will provide advice to the ALMA Coordinating Committee (ACC) on those major issues presented to the ASAC by the ALMA Project Scientist that affect the science capabilities of ALMA and require decisions to be made or priorities to be set regarding the ALMA Project tasks and resources. The ASAC will be kept informed of progress and developments through periodic reports and briefings submitted to it by the ALMA Project Management. The ASAC will meet at least semi-annually. Reports of the ASAC deliberations will be made in writing to the ACC by the chair of the ASAC following each committee meeting, on the schedule specified by the Project Scientist prior to each ASAC meeting.
