H. S. Liszt's Publically-Distributed Computer Programs For The PC

caleb

is a front-end for the VLA Calebrator database, designed to relieve some of the tedium of picking calibrators for VLA observing. It is also a handy portable means of generating/interrogating the database on the fly. It runs interactively or in batch mode (from a simple script) for large numbers of target objects. You can get this program via the anonymous ftp server at ftp.cv.nrao.edu; look in the NRAO-staff/hliszt/caleb area or follow the link to caleb

eval

is a DOS command-line expression evaluator which knows physical and astronomical constants. You can get this program via the anonymous ftp server at ftp.cv.nrao.edu; look in the NRAO-staff/hliszt/eval area or follow the link to eval

hazel

(Harvey's Az-El program) is a graphical program designed to view the sky in az-el coordinates in preparation for observing. Hazel stores a library of radioastronomy sites; you can set the date and time and see source lists projected on the sky and/or against the galactic coordinate system, or make charts of rising/setting times. It is also a graphical front end for the VLA calebrator database. You can get this program via the anonymous ftp server at ftp.cv.nrao.edu; look in the NRAO-staff/hliszt/hazel area or follow the link to hazel.

drawspec

is a singledish data reduction program which has been generalized to deal with images and cubes stored in FITS format. It has a native binary format or it can be pointed at FITS images or cubes. It has import/export facilities for ASCII, and CLASS FITS and import from singledish FITS used at the NRAO 43m and 12m telescopes. It has the unique and dangerous ability to edit FITS files in situ . You can get this program via the anonymous ftp server at ftp.cv.nrao.edu; look in the NRAO-staff/hliszt/drawspec area or follow the link to drawspec.
