Notes:
A nearly face on spiral at z = 0.960 is coincident with the radio core (size less than 0.1''). We observed this source to vary by about 30% over an 18 month period. Variability in addition to a broad emission line spectrum (Phillips et al. 1997) and an inverted radio spectral index of = –0.1 ± 0.1, suggests that this spiral galaxy contains an AGN. It also has a red color of V – I = 1.8.

This radio source was detected by ISO with S7 µm = 52 µJy. Although Rowan-Robinson et al. (1997) interpret this source as a massive starburst with a SFR 200 M /yr, star-formation seems unlikely to be powering the bulk of the radio emission in this variable source.
