1514-241(OR -225, AP Libr{\ae})BL Lac Object z= 0.0486 V= 15.08
Notes (from the published papers):
The N-type galaxy, classified as BL Lacertae object
AP\,Libr{\ae} (also OR\,$-225$, PKS\,B1514-241)
is a very close object with
$z$=0.042 and an optical magnitude of $\sim15$.
It displays high variability in the optical, reaching rates of
0.06$\pm$0.01\,mag\,hr$^{-1}$ (\citet{Carini91} and
\citet{Bond71}, ).
The HST images published by \citet{Scarpa00} show a bright point surrounded
by a large, round elliptical host.
It displays a pc-scale straight radio jet extending at least
20$^{\prime\prime}$ to the east of the core at P.A.\,88$^\circ$
(\citet{Morganti93}).
\citet{Lister98} published 43\,GHz polarimetric images of this
object, showing a jet towards the South with P.A.\,$-171^\circ$,
within 1\,mas of the core, turning then 14$^\circ$ to P.A.\,157$^\circ$.
The RORF maps show a jet towards the SE. Our map
shows structure towards the SE, out to 5\,mas off the core.
