Schedule Menu

Thi menu controls the computation of the detailed schedule as well as allowing a change of the scan termination criterion. For example, Stop LST can be converted into durations or dwell times. This is useful for modifying a schedule read in from an old observe file in which Stop LST is given for each scan. In order to change such a schedule it should be converted to durations or dwell times.

Compute Observing schedule

Compute (or recompute) the observing schedule from scan information for the entire Observe List. Before scheduling, you should have set the start time for the first observation in the
Starting Conditions Page of the Options menu.

After scheduling has been performed, you should make sure that no errors were detected. This may be done by creating a report using the Report menu.

Set dwell times

For all sources in the Observe List, set the Dwell Time, as the quantity which defines the length of the observation. The Dwell Time is the minimum time on source and collecting data. In all subsequent scheduling, this time with the derived start time will be used to determine the duration and stop time of the observation. The Dwell Time is determined by first computing (or recomputing) the observing schedule from information currently entered in the scans for the entire Observe List; the Dwell Times calculated are then marked as the "entered values." Before scheduling, you should have set the start time for the first observation in the
Starting Conditions Page of the Options menu.

After scheduling has been performed, you should make sure that no errors were detected. This may be done by creating a report using the Report menu.

Set durations

For all sources in the Observe List, set the Duration as the quantity which defines the length of the observation. In all subsequent scheduling, this duration with the derived start time will be used to determine the stop time of the observation. The Duration is determined by first computing (or recomputing) the observing schedule from information currently entered in the Scheduling Page for the entire Observe List; the Durations calculated are then marked as the "entered values." Before scheduling, you should have set the start time for the first observation in the
Starting Conditions Page of the Options menu.

After scheduling has been performed, you should make sure that no errors were detected. This may be done by creating a report using the Report menu.

Set Stop LST

For all sources in the Observe List, set the Stop Time as the quantity which defines the length of the observation. In all subsequent scheduling, the Stop Time will be used for the observation, the duration and dwell time will be computed. The Stop Time is determined by first computing (or recomputing) the observing schedule from information currently entered in the Scheduling Page for the entire Observe List; the Stop Times calculated are then marked as the "entered values." Before scheduling, you should have set the start time for the first observation in the
Starting Conditions Page of the Options menu.
