Abstract:

The amplification by the lensing effect of massive galaxy clusters enables us to study faint background galaxies in the fields. We have carried out a search for z-band dropout sources in the cluster fields in which HST/ACS optical images. The J-band images were obtained with Magellan and VLT. We used VLT/ISAAC to obtain spectra of ten z-band-dropout candidates to search for emission lines. Our ultimate goal is to use the emission-line properties in galaxies to probe the epoch of reionzation of the intergalactic medium.
