Report of the Beyond Einstein Program Assessment Committee

September 11

12:10PM, Room 230, NRAO, Edgemont Road

Abstract:

Last fall, the NRC convened a committee to select the next major NASA astronomy mission to be built, with a planned start in 2009 and a launch in 2016. The committee had two tasks: the first was to select the mission to be built first from within the Beyond Einstein program. The five mission areas are: Constellation-X, LISA, Black Hole Finder Probe, Joint Dark Energy Probe, and Cosmic Inflation Probe. The committee's second charge was to assess all of the Beyond Einstein missions as a useful input for the next decadal report. I will report on the committee's conclusions.
