CBI+GBT CMB Power Spectrum / MUSTANG Status & Plans

October 31

12:10PM, Room 230, NRAO, Edgemont Road

Abstract:

The combination of high angular resolution and high surface brightness sensitivity in the short centimeter to millimeter regime make the GBT a unique instrument for CMB & SZ measurements. I will concentrate on two related developments in this area. In the first half of my talk, I will present the CBI 5-year total intensity power spectrum, which includes the results of an extensive GBT 30 GHz point source survey, and discuss the interpretation of the previously seen small-angular-scale excess power. In the second half I will present an update on the status of MUSTANG, the 3mm bolometer array which achieved first light on the GBT last Fall, and describe planned science observations (including but not confined to the CMB!).
