Cassini Results

February 12

12:10PM, Room 230, NRAO, Edgemont Road

Abstract:

Cassini has now been in orbit around Saturn for more than 3.5 years. I will give a brief overview of the mission and focus on results from icy satellites, especially Iapetus. Iapetus was the target of a close Cassini flyby in September 2007, and results from several instruments are suggestive of the importance of thermal segregation in contributing to the bizarre albedo dichotomy.
