Statistical analysis of results of Russian State elections performed under varying boundary conditions

July 30

12:10PM, Room 230, NRAO, Edgemont Road

Abstract:

Results of statistical analysis of Russian state elections in December 2011 (Russian Duma) and March 2012 (Russian president) will be discussed. The power of statistics will be used to check for possible fraud. It will be shown that one can distinguish between different interpretations of election results (special sociological conditions or simple fake) by using elections performed under different "boundary conditions" -- with and without involvement of an army of independent observers.
