This form searches the source catalog produced by the 4 Meter All Sky Survey (4MASS). This radio survey will use the NRAO Very Large Array telescope and will cover the sky north of a declination of -30 degrees at a frequency of 74 MHz, a resolution of 80" and a limiting peak source brightness of about 500(?) mJy/beam. For detailed general instructions click here or for more about a form entry click on its label.
The 4MASS survey is being carried out by the NRAO and the Naval Research Lab.
Note: The 4MASS survey has not yet been approved for observation with the VLA. What are available at present are the results of test observations which include only a small portion of the sky. Much of the region between +70 and +80 degrees declination is included.
Entire 14 x 14 deg fields can be obtained here or the entire source catalog as a FITS binary table and software here. (Reminder: shift-click will generally force your browser to save the requested image to a file rather than displaying it in a text window.) A postage stamp server is also available to obtain FITS images, jpeg or contour plots of smaller regions.
The (USA) National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) is operated by Associated Universities, Inc. and is a Facility of the (USA) National Science Foundation.
