I am a Senior Scientist at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory where I work on the study of radio galaxies, quasars, cosmology, the development of new instrumentation for radio astronomy, and the history of radio astronomy. I also hold an appointment as a Research Professor at the University of Virginia and as an Outside Scientific Member of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Germany where I was a Director from 1977-1979.
