If you use my .profile script

In your home directory, type the following:

• rm .use_*; touch .use_fvwm
• Add any .fvwmrc.extra* files from the recipe below

Otherwise...

• Modify your login script (.profile or .login depending on shell) to start fvwm (it may be in your .xinitrc), then do this:
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/setup/.fvwmrc
• Edit extra files if you want:
  • .fvwmrc.extranet for netscape, etc shortcuts
  • .fvwmrc.extrassh for extra login shortcuts (secure shell)
  • .fvwmrc.extrarlogin for the same thing using rlogin
  • Samples of these in /home/orangutan/pmurphy/.
• mkdir bin (if necessary)
• cd bin
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/bin/startvm   (if you use emacs/vm)
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/bin/startgnus   (if you use emacs/gnus)
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/bin/madjumper
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/bin/xrlogin
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/bin/xslogin
• ln -s /home/polaris/pmurphy/bin/xloadmeter
• Try logging out/in and see if it works. Contact me if there are problems.
