List of 12 known errors in Todd R. Hunter's PhD Thesis (as of October 12, 2011)

Note: The page numbers below refer to the original printed version of
my thesis.  At some point during the process of recreating the PS and
PDF files, the text on page 10 spilled over by a few words onto page
11, thereby pushing the start of Chapter 2 to page 12.  Therefore, you
must add 1 to each of the Page numbers below if you have downloaded
the thesis from this website.

Page 62: Equation 3.16 is not correct in general.  It is correct
for wavelengths shortward of 250 microns (where beta is assumed to
be one in the Hildebrand approach).  For longer wavelengths,
the correct equation should be Q_nu = 3.75e-4 * (nu/1.2THz)^beta
Thanks to Maite Beltran for noticing this error.

Page 65: In the first entry of the table, the coordinates and flux
densities are actually for W3Main, not W3(OH).  The second entry of
the table corresponds to W3(OH), a.k.a. G133.947+1.064 in Kurtz,
Churchwell and Wood (1994). 

Page 89: The wavelength labels should be reversed.  The top map is
350 microns and the lower map is 450 microns.  See ApJL 493, L97 for
the correct flux densities.

Page 114: The reference McCutcheon et al. (1995) should be 1991.

Page 135: The IRAS fluxes and ensuing greybody fit in Figure 3.49 are
wrong due to the mixup on page 65.  Further results given in this
chapter on W3(OH) will be unreliable.

Page 207: The formula 4.29 is incorrect.  The two terms in square brackets
should both contain "-1" in the denominator.

Page 236 and 240: The channel maps shown are not integrated properly
over the velocity range listed.  Instead, they show the emission in
the (single) channel corresponding to the lower limit of the range
listed.  As such, the mass values in table 5.6 are underestimates.

Bibliography errors:

Page 258: Gonata, Palmer & Novak should be Gonatas, Palmer & Novak

Page 262: The page number for Kreysa & Haller is wrong.  It should be 692.

Page 263: The year for Loewenstein et al. is wrong.  It should be 1973.

Page 264: The year for N. Matthews et al. is missing; it should be 1987.

Page 265: The following reference is missing from the bibliography:
McCutcheon, W.H., Dewdney, P.E., Purton, C.R., Sato, T. 1991, AJ, 101,
1435.
