3C31 = B0104+321

• FR I (plumed) radio galaxy at z = 0.017 (70 Mpc, H = 71 km/s/Mpc, Ω_m = 0.27, Ω_Λ = 0.73)
• Linear scale 340 pc/arcsec
• Filamentary plumes extend over 400 kpc from galaxy
• Conical inner jet and counterjet
• Large-scale distortion (wiggling) of both plumes
• VLA λ20cm (1.4 GHz) image at 5.5 arcsec resolution
