14 January, 2006 - 9:00 AM The future of bolometer surveysA. W. Blain (Caltech) The next generation of wide-field surveys will provide a
rich opportunity for investigating key examples of the
population of the most luminous galaxies, in order to carry
out a full census of their properties. While the results
could highlight the most unusual and exotic regions of the
high-redshift Universe, it will remain important both to
study the objects in detail, and to push deeper to understand the connection with conventional optically-selected galaxies
at high redshifts. ALMA will be the key instrument for both
goals.
