About Me

Hi, I am an Astronomer currently working at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). I completed my Ph.D. at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, India under the Joint Astronomy Programme of the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India. After my Ph.D., I was a Jansky Postdoctoral Fellow of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory at the University of Virginia from 2005 till 2008. Since 2008 onwards I was a Senior Research Associate and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Royal Military College of Canada until 2012. I have been at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (NCRA-TIFR), Pune, India from 2012 until May 2022 as Reader and Associate Professor. In 2022 I joined NRAO, Charlottesville, USA as an Associate Astronomer. Currently I am a Tenured Astronomer at NRAO.

In addition, I also hold a visiting professor position at the University of Virginia. I am a former associate faculty of the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, TIFR, Bengaluru, India. I have also held a visiting professor position at Stockholm University, Sweden during 2017–2018.

I am also fortunate to be a fellow of the three major Indian Science Academies, i.e. The Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, The National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad, and the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru. I am also a member of the International Astronomical Union, American Astronomical Society and the Astronomical Society of India. During my early career stage, I have won young scientist awards from the Indian National Science Academy, the International Astronomical Union and the Swarnajayanti award from the Department of Science and Technology.
