(Actually, more the overall theme of the Conference).

• Food at this conference: much better than others (IMHO)

• Linux (you knew this was coming!) beginning to dominate (laptops, demos); Solaris fading (only one demo was sun based)

• WEB SERVICES are the wave of the future

• National Virtual Observatory: progress, everyone working towards same overall goal

• "Petabyte" no longer a shocking word.
