Xfig - what it's good for

• Making charts like this

• Line drawing, postscript manipulation

• Enhancing AIPS output plots (use OUTPRINT)

• Printouts that need scalable fonts

• Some nits: WYSINAWYG (what you see is not always what you get), but this is improving.

• Linux version much more recent than Solaris (in CV).
