Meeting and Hotel Accommodations
Our workshop is being held at the beautiful Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii. A large resort on 62 acres of oceanfront property, it offers many amenities, activities, and dining options. All workshop attendees will be housed in the Lagoon Tower which is closest to the convention center as well as the Kona pool (see map).
Hotel Rates for 2013 Rocks! are as follows:

$180 for king or double, single or double occupancy

$205 for king or double, single or double occupancy for guaranteed Ocean or Dolphin view

$125 for students, single or double occupancy (subject to approval by LOC, Lagoon Tower not guaranteed). Once students have registered and their status has been verified, they will receive an email with an access code for the reduced student room rate.
These rates are offered, based on availability, for 3 days before and 3 days after the meeting. (So from Thursday, April 4 – Monday, April 15.)
Reservations must be made through our dedicated hotel reservation link. Students will need an access code to make their room reservations at the discounted rate. Upon approval of your registration, this code will be emailed directly to you.Discounts, Fees and Gratuities:
- Workshop attendees will receive a discounted rate
for Self Parking at $7.50 tax inclusive per car, per
day (subject to change). Valet Parking is available
at $21.00 tax inclusive per car per day (subject to
change).

The suggested porterage fee (to have your baggage delivered to your room) is $8.00 per person. This is a worthwhile service, as the resort is quite large.

Maid Gratuity: $2.50 per day per room suggested. This is optional and at your discretion.

Guestroom High Speed Internet Access will be complimentary for workshop attendees.
This special group rate is guaranteed until March 23, 2013. Rates and rooms may not be available after that date.
In order to confirm your room assignment, you will be required to provide a first night’s deposit, refundable up to five (5) days in advance of the workshop date. Checks and major credit cards are acceptable to establish prepayment. All credit cards used to prepay will be charged immediately.
Traveling to Hawaii
The closest airport to the workshop is the Kona International Airport (KOA), located just 25 minutes from the hotel.
For transportation to the resort, there are several shuttle services and taxis available, as well as rental car agencies at the airport. For more information visit here. There is a rental car agency on site for day rentals, if desired.
