8.1 Installation

NetMeeting is a freely distributed MicroSoft product that requires the following minimum configuration:

  • MicroSoft Windows 95/98 with 16 MB of RAM or Windows NT 4.0 with 24 MB of RAM
  • 90 MHz Pentium processor
  • MicroSoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 or later
  • 32-bit TCP/IP stack and Windows sockets interface

When NetMeeting is first installed and used by any login account, it must be configured to give a user identification name and set audio levels.

To find the IP address of your computer, on the NetMeeting Help menu, click About Windows NetMeeting. The IP address of your computer is displayed at the bottom left of the window.
