1 Outline

This document describes the main features, and use, of the NRAO video conferencing system.

Section 2 is an overview of the system and of the three main types of video conference calls that it supports: (1) point-to-point conferencing within the NRAO, (2) multi-point conferencing within the NRAO, and (3) conferencing with non-NRAO sites.

Section 3 describes basic features of the remote control used to place calls and to control the camera during a video conference.

Section 4 describes how to dial the various types of conference call.

Sections 5 and 6 describe features of the main camera and microphones in the video conferencing rooms.

Section 7 outlines how to use secondary video sources (second camera, document camera, computer displays, or video tape) to enhance a meeting or presentation.

Section 8 describes how to set up direct PC-to-PC screen sharing so that high-resolution computer presentations or tutorials can be shared between sites in parallel with a video conference.

Section 9 suggests responses to situations that may create problems, or possibly confuse novice users, during video conferences.

Section 10 is a checklist for video conference organizers.
